Hanks Grille & Catering

Built during a pivotal moment in the brand's identity — a transition from rustic, casual BBQ to an elevated, upscale dining aesthetic — this full Squarespace redesign had one central challenge: translating a new visual direction, which was being developed simultaneously across physical menus and print materials, into a cohesive digital experience. The site is built on heavy custom HTML, CSS, and JavaScript throughout: custom paper-textured backgrounds that directly mirror the look and feel of the physical menus, custom stamp-style icons, and layered decorative graphic elements embedded into page backgrounds across the site. The most technically complex features are the fully custom internal page navigation systems built from scratch on the catering and menu pages — anchor-linked scroll sections for menu items, pricing tiers, and catering offerings, all driven by custom JavaScript and CSS. The goal was for a visitor to land anywhere on the site and feel like they were stepping into the Hank's brand experience — cohesive with the physical space, the menus in their hands, and the elevated identity the team was building.
