Montpelier Hunt Races

A complete facelift and modernization of an existing Squarespace site, built in preparation for the 2025 race season and all future events. Rather than building from the ground up, this project required working within an existing Squarespace environment and systematically reimagining it from the inside out. The most technically demanding custom elements include a fully custom events carousel slider — which was also adapted and implemented on the vendors page as a custom scrolling section — giving the site a dynamic, editorial feel that the native platform couldn't produce on its own. Beyond the interactive features, layouts and design patterns were standardized across all pages, years of inconsistent content were cleaned up, and the news section was restructured so that all blog posts render consistently and flow dynamically through Squarespace summary blocks wherever they appear on the site. The challenge with a redesign of this nature is maintaining continuity for a returning audience while making the experience feel meaningfully new — and delivering that in a way that the client can maintain going forward without a developer in the room.
