Rocky's Gold & Silver

A ground-up Shopify build that was technically complex on multiple fronts. The client sells a wide variety of product types with different handling, shipping, and fulfillment requirements, all of which needed to be configured individually. Beyond the product catalog, Rocky's also runs an active eBay auction business, and embedding a live auction feed from their eBay account cleanly within a Shopify layout required connecting to eBay's API directly — a learning curve worked through independently to deliver an integrated experience that didn't feel bolted on. A teammate handled product photography and headshots, both of which look great on the site. The build was completed on one of Shopify's free built-in themes — not Dawn, but one of the other free options — which kept costs low for the client while still delivering a clean, professional result. The most meaningful functional addition was enabling online ordering for the first time: the previous site had no e-commerce capability, and custom shipping and local pickup logic was built out per product, routing customers to the right fulfillment method based on the size and type of item. This one also carries some personal weight — Rocky's is where I bought my wife's engagement ring, which made getting to rebuild their website later feel like a pretty cool full-circle moment.
